Knowing how to clean spa filters is one of the most important things you can do to keep your spa running well for many years. In this post, we will teach you how to clean spa filters the right way. Just follow these steps every 4 weeks so you can save money, save time, and enjoy your spa for years to come.

What you’ll need-
- A large bucket or bathtub.
- Filter Cleaner (we recommend SpaGuard Filter Cleaner)
- A water hose or faucet
How To Clean Spa Filters-
Step 1 – Remove Filters
Unscrew the filter stand-pipe caps, then remove all of your filters from the filter compartment and place them in the bucket. Do not use the spa or add chemicals while filters are removed. (NOTE: If you have the ACE salt water system make sure you turn off the power to your spa before removing the ACE Chlorine Generator Cell)
Step 2 – Rinse Filters
Rinse all of the filters with your water hose or faucet. You want to be sure you remove any dirt and debris. We recommend using a pressurized nozzle.
Step 3 – Spray or Soak Filters
If Using Spray – Spray the filter cleaner generously directly on each filter and let them sit for 15 minutes. Light brushing may be required for filters with lots of oil, dirt, or scale accumulation.
If Soaking – Fill your bucket with water, then introduce the recommended amount of filter cleaning solution. Place the filter in the filled bucket and let them sit overnight or at least 8 hours.
Step 4 – Rinse Filters
Rinse the filters thoroughly using a high-pressure nozzle.
Step 5 – Re-install Filters
After the final rinse, re-install filters into their proper place in the filter compartment. Be sure to secure the filters by tightly screwing down the standpipe caps by hand.
