How to Replace a Broken 74500 Frog Ease Cartridge Holder

Welcome to Backyardplus! In this post, we show you how to replace the Frog Ease Cartridge Holder if the handle is broken. Before we get started, lets go over the tools and parts you will need.

Tools you will need:

  • Drill with 7/32” bit
  • Needle nose pliers
  • Hook tool

Step 1. Remove the Frog Ease cap and remove the broken handle from the Frog Ease cartridge.

Step 1. Remove the cap-
Step 1.1 Remove the handle-

Step 2. Drill 3 shallow holes in the top of the Frog Ease Cartridge Holder.

Step 2. Drill 3 holes-
Step 2.1 3 holes-

Step 3. Insert the needle nose pliers into the two holes, push down and rotate the cartridge holder counterclockwise 1/8 turn.

Step 3. Needle nose pliers-

Step 4. Insert your hook tool into one of the holes and pull upwards to remove the cartridge holder.

Step 4. Hook tool-
Step 4.1 Lift up on the hook tool-

Step 5. Lube the cartridge holder O-ring with silicone grease.

Step 5. Lube th O ring-

Step 6. Insert the new cartridge holder into the body and rotate the cartridge holder clockwise 1/8 turn to lock it in place.

Step 6. Insert the cartridge-

Step 7. Install the cap and you are done!
