This Titanium Heater heater is for export versions of the Hot Spring, Tiger River and Limelight spas. It is 1500 watts on 240 volts specifically for Non-North American spas. It is also recommended to replace the thermistors at the same time you are replacing the heater. The thermistors ports have different thread sizes to insure the thermistors can’t accidentally be reversed when re-installing them into this new heater. The also have different tips on the ends of the wire to insure they can’t accidentally be plugged into the wrong port on the IQ Control Box. Your existing 3/4″ vinyl tubing will attach to this heater with no worries. This replacement heater does not have a plug on the end of the power cord like on the 1995-1996 spas. In most applications, the heater is connected directly inside the spa control box.
Tip: You can also utilize the cord end (plug) from your old No Fault Heater and splice it onto this new Titanium heater if needed on your 1995-1996 Hot Spring or Tiger River spa.
Note#1: The inlet thermistor port on these style heaters require a wrench to thread in the thermistor.
Replacement Hint: It’s easier to replace a heater if the spa is drained. However, some folks leave the water in the spa, disconnect the vinyl tubing from their old heater and insert wine corks into the ends of the vinyl tubing. This minimizes water loss during the change out. Repair techs use radiator hose pinch off pliers to clamp off the tubing.
