Description
This is the replacement flow switch for the 1992-1994 Tiger River Khyber, Manora and Tondi spa models.
Technical Specs: The flow switch is located in the heater interlock relay coil circuit. When the switch is closed (proper flow), voltage is transferred to the heater interlock coil when the control thermostat calls for heat. Activating the relay allows the heater to activate. When the switch is open (low flow), the voltage to the heater interlock relay coil is interrupted regardless of the state of the control thermostat. This prevents the heater from activating until the low flow condition has been resolved. The flow switch is reset by turning down the temperature dial all the way counter-clockwise then back up to the target temperature. Also unplugging (powering down the spa) the spa for 30 seconds then plugging it back in.
Troubleshooting: The following are some of the common causes of flow switch tripping;
* Dirty or clogged filter
* Clogged intake
* Low water level
* Airlock in the circulating plumbing and/or pump
* Water check valve on the inlet side of the circ pump has failed and inhibiting flow.
* Worn out flow switch (average lifespan is 10-12 years)
Warning: The flow switch is a safety device and should never be bypassed or tampered with.
