How To Easily Install a Spa Cover on the Hot Spring Uprite Cover Lifter (Item #37876)

In this post, we show you how to install a spa cover on a Hot Spring Uprite Cover Lifter, item# 37876. Before we get started, let’s determine the tools you will need.

Tools you will need to install a spa cover on the Hot Spring Uprite Cover Lifter (Item #37876) :

  • Impact driver or drill
  • 11mm wrench
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Square head screwdriver

Step 1. Place the new cover on top of the spa.

Step 2. Loosen the two bolts on the 71794 gas shock with an 11mm wrench.

Step 2a. Loosen the bolts on the shocks-

Do the same thing on the other side.

Step 2b. Do the same thing on trhe other side-

Step 3. Place the arm inside of the guide rail to get an accurate measurement.

Step 3a. Install the arms to get the correcyt measurements-

Do the same thing on the other side.

Step 3b. Install the arm on the other side-

Step 4. Draw a line with a Sharpie along the top side of the guide rail.

Step 4a. make a plumb mark with a sharpie-

Remove the arm and pre-drill four holes for the screws.

Step 4b. Pre drill the four holes-

Step 5. Attach the guide rail to the cover with the four screws.

Step 5. Install the four screws-

Step 6. Place the arm back into the guide rail and mark the two pilot holes with a Sharpie. You will notice a metal plate underneath the vinyl.

Step 6a. Install the arm and mark the 2 holes with a sharpie-

Pre-drill the two holes.

Step 6b. Pre drill the new holes-

Step 7. Attach the lifter arm to the cover with the two screws.

Step 7. Install the screws in the arm-

Step 8. Draw a line with a Sharpie on the top side of the other guide rail.

Step 8a. Mark a line on the other side-

Remove the arm and pre-drill four holes for the screws.

Step 8b. Pre drill 4 holes on the others side-

Step 9. Attach the guide rail to the cover with the four screws.

Step 9. Install the 4 screws into the other side-

Step 10. Place the arm back into the guide rail and mark the two pilot holes with a Sharpie. You will notice a metal plate underneath the vinyl.

Step 10a. Mark the 2 holes to pre drill on the other side-

Pre-drill the two holes.

Step 10b. Pre drill the 2 holes on the other side-

Step 11. Attach the lifter arm to the cover with the two screws.

Step 11. Install the two screws on the other side-

Step 12. Install the two bolts on the outside rear of the guide rail with an 11mm wrench.

Step 12a. Install the 2 bolts on the outside rear-

Do the same thing on the other guide rail.

Step 12b. Install the two bolts on the other side-

Lift the cover all the way up.

Step 12c. Lift the cover all the way up-

Step 13. In the upright position, tighten the two gas shock bolts.

Step 13a. In the upright position tighten the two shock bolts-

Do the same thing on the other side.

Step 13B. In the upright position tighten the other shock bolts-

Step 14. In the upright position, install the bolt on the underside of the guide rail.

Step 14a. In the upright position install the underside bolt-

Do the same thing on the other side.

Step 14b. In the Upright position install the underside bolt on the other side-

Good job!
