The gray floating ring is used in all 1998-2002 Hot RE, RLX, SE, SLX, and SLXtra models. Also found on all the Solana spas models. When the jet pump is activated, the water is drawn into the filter compartment cascading over this “Lily Pad” style floating ring, causing an efficient skimming action of 360 degrees. When the pump turns off, the ring floats higher than the surface of the water. This helps prevent any debris not trapped in the filter from floating back into the spa.
