Hey, Oscar helped me ID my issue of "unable to hold a constant temperature." I played with the settings for a good month and deduced that the unit stopped heating when the temperature rose higher than the control setting. My conclusion was that the high-limit thermister was defective. I ordered both the low and high since it made sense to change both simultaneously. You all made a mistake on the paperwork you sent me, incorrectly labeling the low and high. It's bad enough to be mechanically challenged without your help mislabeling the two items. :-) Anyway, everything works as it should once installed in the correct openings. Oscar also warned me that if replacing the thermisters did not fix the issue, my next option was an expensive control panel replacement ($1300+) different than my current one (2005 Tiger River Sumatran). If that issue occurs, will the replacement panel fit the existing opening for my original control panel? Just curious at this time; if there is some information you can send me on a replacement panel, that would be appreciated. Thanks, you guys are a great resource for us do-it-selfers.On 03/13/2024 by C. C. (verified customer)
Hi Charles-
We're so glad to hear that Oscar was able to help you and we're sorry that those two thermistors were mis-kitted by the factory. We are doing some additional quality control to make sure we catch those issues when receiving/restocking from the manufacturer. We will email you the information regarding the Eagle retrofit process. Thanks for sharing your experience.
